SFHAF offers early stage private financing for affordable housing in San Francisco. We bridge to permanent financing programs established by the San Francisco’s Mayor’s Office of Housing & Community Development.

Our speed of execution, flexible terms, and ability to coordinate with public funders helps our borrowers acquire sites quickly.

We provide:

  • Loan Types: Acquisition-only and Acquisition + Rehabilitation loans for vacant land and existing properties, as well as acquisition/rehabilitation loans. We have the capacity to fully fund acquisition and rehabilitation, including construction of Accessory Dwelling Units.

  • Terms: Flexible terms up to four years.

  • Size: No single-loan lending limit. We finance small buildings (up to 25 units) through medium and large buildings (25-70+ units).

  • Property Type: We finance a range of property types, including Vacant Land, Existing Properties, Wholly Residential, Mixed-Use, Single Room Occupancy, and Accessory Dwelling Units.
